| Prior to the 2004 season, three Birmingham police officers were shot and killed. UAB wore a patch to honor them throughout the season. The patch lists the three fallen officers' individual badge numbers. (Note the design was meant to resemble the original design as much as possible. Pictures are very limited of this time, so details were tough to make out.) |
